David Acreman is a singer/guitarist/songwriter from Oxford who writes a range of songs in varying styles from instrumentals to pop ballads. He currently records with long time collaborator Ross Andrews who adds additional lead guitar. . Our influences are many and varied but include Pink Floyd, Hendrix, G N R , Bob Dylan, Crowded House , The Beatles and Nick Drake. We probably don't sound like any of them although we have been compared to Beck and The Stone Roses because of our track, Kill the nation.
We have recently recieved airplay on Calon FM with our instrumental melancholy which made the top ten on unsigned chart and are popular on Jango and ourstage placing in the top 100 in various genres and winning airplay. We also recieved a golden auddy award for Kill the nation.
Our EP " Debut" was released in May 2010 and is available at all major internet retailers and was reviewed in the local music press which noted that They start off promisingly enough with ?Kill The Nation?, apparently an attack on reality show pop stars, a prairie ramble enhanced by 80s-style funk bass that oddly ends up sounding a bit like Love & Rockets, there?s the ambient guitar instrumental called ?Melancholy? whose notable feature is a passing resemblance to John Williams? version of ?Cavatina? .
