The One Stop for the New Music Industry!
Drummer & Founder of Whotune. I began playing drums at the age of 9 in the UK. Played in a school Big Band performing shows such as West Side Story & Rock versions of Christmas carols (thanks Mr Bellman!) Progressed to playing rock/pop through my teens & got a little more funky during my 20's but still played the Rock/Pop style in cover bands playing casinos, pubs/clubs & private shows.
I formed my own drum business in 1990 & began selling custom made drums to celebrity drummers around the world as well as via Guitar Centre & Sam Ash stores. I sold this company in 1999 to an American company.
Became involved with Roadshow Music in 1995 & was the 1st person to get Savage Garden radio Airplay anywhere in the World. Have worked for myself promoting Albums by many of the big names in music since then including Metallica, Matchbox 20, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Natalie Imbruglia, Collective Soul, Lighthouse Family, Andrea Boccelli & many others as well as various other projects including 21 CD retail stores & a marketing/promotional division.
Also Spent some time as National Sales Manager for Yamaha Pro Music Products.
I managed a singer songwriter & was frustrated at the lack of Vision by Major Record labels & radio stations,so came up with the idea for Whotune after alot of Red Wine & a Cuban cigar!
The goal is to bring new & exciting features to Whotune to aid Unsigned Original music to be heard, promoted & enjoyed! In short, a Re-imagined record label, a multi media company working with content creators to distribute content in new & exciting ways.
We also want the site to become a great source of information & inspiration for anyone involved in music making or the wider music industry. We aim to build a community where anyone involved in music can come to enjoy talking to other musicians or to discover NEW music from all over the world in a friendly totally MUSIC FOCUSSED environment. I was sitting on my balcony a little drunk with a mate of mine when I told him to write a song about Hugh Heffner. I proceeded to dance around slapping my knees C&W style singing "Please Mr Heffner can I have my party at your Mansion" in a cliched C&W drawl. 1 week later this was presented to me & I played Electronic drums on it..great track!!
